1918 (circa) Col. A. A. White, Villa Site Entrepreneur
Description
Col. A. A. White, the man in the stern, bought many Flathead Lake villa sites and tried to sell them. Though he did sell quite a few, many were lost to federal and county governments for nonpayment of taxes. Quite the promoter, he conducted inspection tours from his fleet of four white launches and white automobiles. He even had a man in a white uniform give Glacier National Park visitors a sales pitch and arrange villa site tours of Flathead Lake properties.
