Married Susannah Coad in England in 1890. He was educated in England and came to Montana 1890. He was a Methodist pastor first in Red Lodge and then Congregational minister in Big Timber. He helped organize Sugar Beet Growers Association and the North Saunders Irrigation District. He was a representative from Yellowstone County to the Montana State Legislature 1913. He was president of anti-saloon league in 1915. In 1918 he was Superintendent of the Montana Anti-Saloon & Public Welfare League. He moved to Washington state where he died in early January 1925.
