The LeMars Sentinel, Iowa, in a recent issue says some nice things of Big
Timber's new pastor. Under the heading "Will Go to Montana," the 8entinel
says:
Dr. II. H. Thoren who has been connected with Western Union College since
its foundation has decided to go west.
Prof. Thoren expects to move to Montana as soon as he disposes of his residence property here and settles up a few
business affairs.
- Dr. Thoren has been president of
Western Union college for several years,
until recently when he was succeeded by
the present head of the institution, Dr.
C. C. Poling, and has worked hard and
faithfully in the interests of upbuilding
and enlarging the school and extending
its scope of work. He has identified
himself also with the best interests of
the city and surrounding country and
has been in the van of progressive movements. He has gained a large number
of friends during his • residence in LeMars whose wishes for success in anything he may undertake will follow him
to his new home in the west
LeMars loses one of her best citizens
and Western Union one of her best instructors when the professor leaves.
