Mrs. Martha Frosty of the Glassware dept. has just received word that her daughter T Sgt Delores E* Frost (formerly of the business office) has been awarded the good conduct medal, Delores is still in. England, Nick Kramisf 3j year old son, Roger, spent a few . days in a Missoula hos- (~ pital* He has been suf- ^ fering with rheumatic fever. Lawrence Humble and Tru~s man Smith brought in a large bob-cat to be used in Lab. investigations. Bonnie Huebsch, Glassware, has bought the Har ry Rose place on So. 1st Capt* Sherman Strate, ¥vrho has been in a redistribution center at Santa Monica, Calt, arrived home for a short visit with his family before * going on to San Angelo, Texas, where he will be in transport commands Earl Malone spent two days in Helena as a delegate to the Montana Wildlife Association* He took with him a recommendation to allow men home on leave to hunt * and fish without license I!ll be glad when this Easter rush is overJ Some sheep and a few chickens have been added to our animal department., Bus Cunningham, formerly a guard here., has recently undergone an operation at the Daly Hospital, but i| riot up and about a littl Floyd L. Brooks, Aviation radioman 2/c, son of Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Brooks has been home to visit* He spent some time on duty in the Pacific. Shortly after Maj* Glen Kohls was called back to Washington D.C** his brother Harold Kohls arrived at the Lab. for a few days visit. He is with the Agricultural college at East Lansing, Michigan Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Centers have received a Memorial scroll from the office of the Adj. Gen. U*S. War Dept,, pertaining to their son, Bob, recently killed in action. The scroll was signed by President Roosevelt. Mr. & Mrs* Rollin Barret have received' the Presidential citation and the Purple Heart for their son, Max, also killed in action. Cpl. Bob Mackey is visiting his .mother, Mrs. Leonard Budden, He has been stationed for some time the Aleutians* Sid Mann is home after spending 3 months in the Vets hospital - Helena Faye Burger, sister of Mrs. Dave Hope, is a new lab employee; in the business office* ;fe received a letter >om Capt* David Lackmanti dth a change of address le says it would take :he FBI to find him with :he address we did have. }ene Hughes has gone jack to Camp Beale, Cal* following a 10 day leave iobt, Huxsol, whpse Adfe, Alice is employed Ln Typhus, has just completed basic training & is here for 10 days. A memorial to the lives of Steve Wanderer, Bob Reinbold, Warren Kil- patrick, Duane Hendrickson, and Bob Centers, Hamilton flyers lost duringounty Hoop Standings — the past year, came to the Public Library this past week in the form of Ivan Dmitri's book nFlight to Everywhere." The book was sent to Hamilton by an unknown donor* The author has written an inscription to the five air men. Word has been received by his wife that Fritz Zosko is now in the Phililppinos< m Jan. 18 Ben Anderson visited the Laboratory, for a few minutes, Mrs. Clara Grondahl of the Glassware is in a hospital in Seattle with an eye infection, Wilma Buchanan is back at work af- ter her recent hospitalization*. Edgar Pickens has bought a farm and is intending to try ranching for a while Good luck, Pickl Selma has been on sick leave for the last two weeks* A letter received from George Tal- lent RM 2/c says he has been transferred to Ghincoteague (what a name Va*, but it is shore duty, which makes him feel like a fish out of water* Vaccine requests are beginning to come in again* People are getting prepared early for the ticks Sgt* Art Thomas - 31 months in the Aleutians, and Pvt. Ralph (Bud) Thomas who has been hospitalized since Nov. when he was shipped up from New Guinea, managed to get homa for their first furloughs and at ., the same time* They have been gone since Sgt. Geo Privett and S Sgt. John Sperry have arrived hojjie from Africa* S Sgt, Sperry immediately got a marriage license and married Lilian Ibj Snyder of Corvallis. The High School kids went on strike for student rates at the shows here and in Darby and succeeded in getting a 10$ cut. Students gelt in for 40$ now but must present the student card they possess. Recent deaths include that of Jt P. fifithoralj and Jim Higgins, one time fire and police chief of Hamilton* Anna Ash says this time that not orily is her brother, Sgt* Harold Bryson, back in the states, but is stationed at Ft* George Wright for a six weekd observation period, after which he expects to get to come home* won We finally got our snow, some anyway, and more cold weather, has been between 6 and 15 above mornings S* Sgt. Paul Vance has gone back to his post following a recent furlough with his folks* __ Word has just been received by his parents that Marine Cpl. George Hie- ronymus has recently been singled out by the Public Relations Div., who took his picture as the only man of his Battalian, the 2nd Marine Div. left in that area, and the only man with three Presidential citations. He said }he would trade all three of them for a trip home* Dr. Jellison leaving Fob 2 to go to Univ. of Chicago. He expects to be back the 16th* Lawrence caught.2 S* American Nutria in his traps* thot to have escaped from some game farm*
