“Harry T. Kendall, a prospector and visionary, bought a couple of claims in the North Moccasin Mountains in 1898. In 1900, a new corporation, the Kendall Gold Mining Company, was formed by Kendall and four other trustees with a capital stock of $2,500,000. The town of Kendall, first formed in 1900, quickly grew into a booming mining camp with a population of 1,400 by 1910.” (John Foster) The cabin home of Harry T. Kendall about 1902. Kendall was the first owner and developer of the Kendall Gold Mine and the first Gold mill. It was here his only son, Chas Kendall, was born. He is standing in front of the cabin. It was under the floor of this cabin that a gold brick was found after the gold mine had closed.
