THE CLINIC WILL BE LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL. THE CLINIC WILL BE A 28' x 60' MODULAR BUILDING CONSTRUCTED BY BOISE CASCADE OF EUGENE, OREGON. THE BUILDING IS DESIGNED TO ACCOMADATE TWO PHYSICIANS WITH THREE EXAMINING ROOMS FOR EACH DOCTOR, RECEPTIONIST AREA, LAB, REST ROOMS, AND WAITING AREA. PLANS FOR THE IMMIDIATE FUTURE ARE TO ACCOMODATE ONE PHYSICIAN AND AN OPTOMOTRIST. POWELL SPEAKS AT CHAMBER MEETING Tuesday, July 20 the Chamber of Commerce of Poplar hosted Mr. Lucius Powell the Lieutenant Governor of Montana, Dist. 5 Kiwanis International. Mr. Powell spoke about the need for a service organization such as Kiwanis here in Poplar, and how in conjunction with the Poplar Chamber of Commerce it would make Poplar a better community to live and work. He mentioned the theme of Kiwanis was to 'BUILD' a better community This years special emphasis pro- gram for Kiwanis is working with yougg people . Getting a kid off drugs is a priceless contribution also working with the old age people . Loneliness and poverty of these people can be swept away with a little help from Kiwanis. At the present time there is a campaign being conducted to charter a Kiwan!s Club for the City of Poplar. Anywone interested in becoming a charter member can do so by contacting Ruben Clark�business phone 768-5121 or 5122, resident phone 768-3615. CITY BUDGET MEETING The City Council of the City of Poplar has completed their preliminary municipal budget;soid budget has been placed on file and Is open to inspection in the office of the Clerk of the Municipality. The Council will meet on the ninth day of August, 1976 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Office for the purpose of fixing the final budget and making appropriations. Any taxpayer may appear at the meeting and be heard for or against any part of the budget. The levy for the proposed 1976- 1977 budget is 72 1/2 mills�a mill being $908.19 PARADE OPENS CELEBRATION The Wild West Days Celebratior will open with a parade on Sat. at 2:00 p.m. with the Rodeo starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Saddle Club Grounds. Sundays parade will be held at 12:00 Noon with the Rodeo following at 2:00 p.m. remember! have your floats ready for wild west days. J0ANN H�GEN HONORED The Board of Advisors for the Outstanding Young Women of America Awards Program announ ced today that JoAnn Marie Hogen, 7704 Boundary Ave., Anchorage, Alaska 97504, has been selected for inclusion In the 1976 edition of OUTSTANDING YOUNG WOMEN OF AMERICA. The Outstanding Young Women of America Program is designed to honor and encourage exceptional young women between the ages of 21 and 36 who have distinguished themselves in their proffessions, homes and their communities. Accomplishments such as these are the result of dedication, service and leadership qualities which deserve to be recognized and remenberea'. This is the goal of many leading women's organizations, college alumni associations and public officials who nominate deserving young women to participate in the program. Serving as chairman of the program's Advisory Board is Mrs. Dexter Otis Arnolc honorary president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. JoAnn Hogen daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claf Hogen of Poplar and now residing in Anchorage Alaska working in the Nursing Profession, along with approximately 7,000 fellow Outstandinj Young Women of America from across the United States, will be presented in the prestigious annual awards volume. In addition, they are now being considered for one of the fifty-one state awards to be presented to those women who have made the most noteworthy contributions in their individual states. From these fifty one state winners, the Ten Outstanding Young Women of America will be chosen.The ten national winners will then be honored at the annual awards luncheon to be held this fall in Washington, D.C. The Board of Advisors and Editors salutes all those honored as Outstanding Young Women of American and take great pride in brining their accomplishments to the attention of the American public.
