"Your Cooperative Involvement" was the theme of the retreat. Sessions relating to cooperative principles, CENEX, women's role in cooperatives, and the Farmers Union highlighted the first session. A second session provided the young couples an opportunity to discuss operations, activities and problems of local cooperatives through ihe use of local co-op board case studies. The studies presented hypothetical situations which often confront local cooperatives . After discussing each problem, the group recommended o solution. Individual participation was encouraged and emphasized. The retreat was the first in a series of Young Couple Conferences to be held by CENEX in each of its marketing regions in the 10-state area served" by the regional supply cooperative. CENEX, based in South St. Paul, serves 1200 local cooperatives with a comprehensive line of form and home products. rev. faulkner to be guest speaker The Reverend Stanley J. Faulkner, an Assemblies of God missionary to the Philippines, will be guest speaker Thursday, April 3rd at 8:00 p.m. at the Poplar Assembly of God Church, the Rev. James Wilson, pastor has announced. Sine 1965 Mr. Faulkner and his wife Jayne have coordinated a boat ministry in the Philippines. They are taking the � gospel N oeople living on isolate islands who had never heard the good news of Jesus Christ. More than 80 small islands, unaccessible except by boat, ore being reached through this ministry. The Foulkners began their work with one small boot in 1965. Since then the ministry has developed to include a team of nine nationals and eight boats. Congregations ore now being established on these islands and converts ore encouraged to worship together regularly. In preparation for their missionary service, the Falkners attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where Mr. Falkner earned his B.A. degree. They pastored churches in Stanley and Devils Lak, N. Dak. before their appointment for Missions work in 1963. Mr, Foulker will share his experiences with, the boat ministry in the Philippines at this special missions rally. Slides, curios and costumes will be featured. The public is invited to attend.
